Autumn is the harvest season. Not only of garden and vegetable goodness, but also of knowledge – let's start loading our heads with knowledge as autumn begins! It is relevant not only for schoolchildren or students, learning is worth a lifetime!

„In the midst of the "Literary Autumn" season, the library has been promoting reading culture, emotional literacy, and intellectual curiosity through various educational and community activities during this gloomy period.

The month of October is dedicated to strengthening emotional and digital literacy. Starting with the "Uncomfortable Cinema" screenings for children, youth and adults, getting underway with the Youth Line's "Green Light for Life" campaign, and ending October with "MIRKT Week" (did you miss Patikrėnai?), Anykštė residents and city guests are invited to the library to improve their emotional literacy and intellectual curiosity competencies in an interactive, fun and safe environment.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. Not limited to just one day, we offer you a whole range of activities – visit the "Uncomfortable Cinema" screenings:

October 14, 4 p.m. "The Secret of Menopause" (dir. Louise Unmack Kjeldsen).

October 16th at 4 pm. "The Most Beautiful Corner of Finland" (dir. Jukka Kärkkäine).

October 19, 12:00 p.m. "The Death of a Fantastic Device" (grades 7–12).

October 21st at 4 pm "Bialiackis" (dir. Eimantas Belickas)

October 22, 12 noon. "80 Angry Journalists" (grades 10–12).

Responding to the theme of emotional literacy, on October 15 at 5:30 p.m. We invite you to the presentation of Jurga Žąsinaitė's historical novel "Stronger than Fate". The novel reveals the little-known life story of Livija Majoresku-Dimšienė, one of the most beautiful landlady's in Lithuania, the daughter of the famous Romanian intellectual and politician Tito Majoresku - she endured the threats of the First and Second World Wars, buried her youngest daughter, mother, father, husband, and survived the exile of her relatives to harsh Siberia. However, despite great trials and often a burden too heavy for women's shoulders, she managed the Ilzenberg estate for many years, taking care not only of the people who worked here and their families, but also of the cultural, social, and Lithuanian-friendly life. The event will be moderated by Jurgita Bražėnaitė-Christiansen.

In the last week of October - from 24 to 31 - the library community invites residents of the Anykščiai region to strengthen their information literacy knowledge, offer to learn more about fake news and manipulation, strengthen critical thinking skills, and become active, insightful, responsible information users and members of communities.

October 24th MIRKT orienteering tour "So I know everything..." (starts from 9 am to 2 pm at a time convenient for you in the library).

October 27, 9:30 a.m. MIRKT training: Real or created? Disinformation and deepfake in the AI age.

October 28, 2 p.m. MIRKT brainstorming tournament "Safe use of the Internet and public e-services".

October 29th 9am–6pm Patikrėnai is back – go on an adventure! BLINK and it's clear.

In November, Literate Autumn will invite you to a creative writing workshop with Tekle Kavtaradze, registration https://shorturl.at/YFDOY

Literate autumn is full of various experiences – from emotional to digital literacy, from an adventure in Patikrėnai, to creative writing adventures. And what will the Storytelling Winter bring? After all, it will not be long before it arrives…
