During the meeting we will talk about:
1. How a team operating 30 kilometers from the front line works.
2. How to work during a crisis.
3. How the crisis is experienced on a personal level, not just at the organizational level.
4. What is worth knowing about veteran rehabilitation.

What is Checkpoint? It is a rehabilitation space in Zaporizhia, located on the front line, operating since 2024. There, veterans, their spouses and children receive free psychological assistance, physical rehabilitation and legal consultations, programs for children and adolescents operate, and assistance is also provided in finding a job, acquiring a new profession or creating their own business. The space was created by the non-governmental organization „Military-Political Research and Reconstruction Laboratory“, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and supported by the Open Lithuania Foundation.

Why is this meeting important? It is an opportunity to share experiences between the Ukrainian and Lithuanian communities. The Checkpoint team works every day in war conditions, and this experience is useful for every community preparing for possible crises. At the end of August, Anykščiai faced the consequences of a strong storm: part of the district was left without electricity, water and telephone communication for several weeks. This shows that even in peacetime, the community must be prepared for crisis situations, and a conversation with members of the Checkpoint organization will help to acquire important knowledge for this.
