On November 14th at 12:00, we invite you to a hike, during which we will visit some of the most famous hills of Anykščiai.
During the hike, we will not only visit the most famous hills of our region, but also remember what writers from the Anykščiai region have written about them, and what legends people tell about them.
During the hike, we will delve into the symbolism of mountains and mountain climbing, and discuss why people take risks in order to climb the most remote and difficult peaks in the world.
While hiking, we will discuss the relationship between writers and nature in their work: the famous prose writer, playwright, and pharmacist Antanas Vienuolis-Žukauskas, the Carmelite reformer and mystic St. John of the Cross, the French surrealist Rene Daumal, and the director, composer, and writer Alejandro Jodorowsky.
We invite you to spend your Saturday afternoon actively. Move your body, gather your thoughts, and learn something new.
Approach the hike responsibly: suitable comfortable footwear and clothing, good physical shape, and a warm drink with your favorite snack are essential. And most importantly, a good mood!
The hike is about 16 kilometers long: you will have to climb hills, mountains, and a mound, there will also be off-road sections, and we will cross a stream.
The start is on November 14 at 12 noon near the Anykščiai L. and S. Didžiuliai Public Library (Vyskupo skv. 1).
