Areas of library activity

The nature of the library's activities is operating in the fields of information dissemination, culture, science and education and carrying out library activities.

Library area of activity – collection, management, systematization, storage, digitization, use and publication of documents, bibliography, organization of cultural and educational programs and cultural development, access to public information sources, regardless of the information provided ensuring the manner, form and medium, regardless of the political or ideological orientation of the authors or the recorded knowledge; ensuring the equal rights of natural and legal persons to use free services and information necessary for public education, socio-cultural education, scientific research and personal development provided in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts.

Main Library Activities according to the Classification of Economic Activities, approved by the Director General of the Department of Statistics under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Order No. DĮ-226 of 31 October 2007 „On the Approval of the Classification of Economic Activities“ – library and archive activities, code 91.01.
